Cathedral is a non-linear audiovisual work, which uses field recording material from Sequoia National Tree Park. Constructed in Max 7, this work is realized using computer vision as a triggering device. The sunlight through the Sequoia trees, captured on HD video triggers the audio material, which is comprised of raw field recordings, vocal improvisations and convolved text-based field recordings. Onto a 10x10 grid, six identical videos are routed and on simultaneous play. Accordingly, the playback speeds of each video are continuously varied based on a random ramp rate governed by the movement of sunlight that creates what I call "video fabrics."
