The KniT project explores the interconnectedness of a generative creative coding system and acoustic improvisation. By using acoustic pitch frequencies and amplitude as triggers within an improvisational context, this work investigates the expressive possibilities of an interactive performance system designed for human-machine interaction. Both the voice and bass are connected to a generative particle system programmed in Max/MSP. Each instrument can independently influence the particle system's speed, flow, direction, and colour based on its pitch and amplitude. The outcome is a dynamic visual representation that responds to the musical performance. The KniT project functions as both an improvisational performance and an interactive installation. It can be adapted to various time frames and may include spontaneous creative collaborations with other artists. This ongoing process explores the influence each element has on the other, with a visual representation that responds to musical performance.
